Tallinn String Quartet was established in 1984 and it has become the only continuously working chamber group with such a long career in Estonian music life. Quartet has performed in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, France, Germany, Switzerland, Japan, Canada and Israel. They have also participated in different international music festivals such as Sound Pressure in Toronto, Saison Balte in Paris, Chamber Music Festival of Södertälje, contemporary music festival Hamburger Begegnungen and national festivals here in Estonia (NYYD, David Oistrakh Festival, Mustjala Music Festival etc). In 1996/1997, Tallinn String Quartet gave concerts entitled 250 Years of String Quartet - the aim was to give review of this genre’s development through different times.  The wide repertoire of Tallinn String Quartet includes the masterpieces of world’s string quartet literature as well as contemporary music and works by Estonian authors. Tallinn String Quartet has made several CDs with Estonian music and recorded for Estonian Public Broadcasting.
